Welcome to the Web site of renowned scriptwriter Max Lewis.
Max has received numerous awards for her imaginative storytelling and is also popular with the press as she speaks about being positive when ill. We invite you to pull up a comfortable chair and explore Max's writings and learn more about the talented young Australian writer, director, producer and actor.
Max is also a huge animal lover and has many rescued pets.
She is also a speaker about positive thinking when ill as she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and diabetes but she does not let this get her down. Having beaten Cancer and flat lined over three times, she lives life to the fullest and her writing helps her to express her thoughts and break free, as she says. Having been born in Australia the talented Aussie has also lived in the United States and England and plans on visiting both countries soon.
Ever since her earliest days, she loved story telling.
Her teachers use to comment on her very vivid imagination and told Max's parents that they had a writer in their daughter. Who at first wanted to be a pro dressage horse rider, than a Veterinary but her short stories always led her back to writing.
Max was born in Brisbane, Australia then her parents moved back to the United Kingdom and then to the United States before bringing Max back to Australia.
She was a cute child who Martin Sheen, Lesley Anne Down and the late and great David Hemmings all loved. They all said that Max belonged on screen but due to her father's work they moved back to Australia.
Max's parents divorced due to Max's father being an abusive alcoholic.
Max certainly didn't have a smooth child hood due to her mothers illness and fathers abuse.
Her Mum is her biggest fan and Max adores her. When Max was thirteen she was diagnosed with type one diabetes and then was very ill when her body didn't accept the insulin correctly and after getting a virus, she fell into a diabetic coma and flat-lined twice. She woke up to her loving Mum by her bedside and had to learn to walk again and was told she had acute nerve damage in both her legs.
Despite this Max shocked her doctors by her determination to start walking quicker than anyone thought. She was shattered to discover that she may never be able to compete in horse riding events.
In 2006 Max was dealt another blow when she fell out of bed and couldn't feel her legs. Max who wasn't a fan of hospitals was rushed to the emergency room where she was told she might have had a stroke. She was admitted into hospital and stayed there for two weeks before she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Max still laughed and smiled as she heard the bad news.
In 2008 Max was devastated when her fiancee suddenly left her after having spent eight years together. Through her tears she did what she did best, she wrote her comedy television series 'All about Jack'. She was on a role and was determined to be a success.
Max is currently single but still believes in love - she is what people call a 'hopeless romantic'.
